Big night for junior league players at River Lane/

Tonight the semifinals of the Fosters sponsored Cork Darts Organisation junior league will be played after wins in last week’s quarterfinals by River Lane and Ma Dullea’s.

Ma Dullea’s came through their quarterfinal by 4-3 against local rivals the Gallows while the River Lane came out on top by 4-2 in their quarterfinal encounter against the Tower Bar.

Tonight’s semifinals at the River Lane will have section toppers the Joshua Tree face-off against  Ma Dullea’s while section runner-up Aunties will take on River Lane with both semifinal to get underway at 9.30pm and the final will be played at the same venue on Monday next November 19.

The final series of qualifying games in the CDO Fosters super league will be played tonight and the match of the night certainly has to be the meeting featuring  Tower Bar at home against the Groves.

Groves at present sit in second place on 30 points and if they can secure this spot they will go through directly to a semifinal place but the Tower are breathing down their neck on 29 points.

At the summit on 30 points sit the Harp and they welcome the Local who only have a very small glimmer of qualification hope available as they have amassed only 18 points and could not have asked for a tougher game.

The game between the Riverstown Inn and the Top of the Hill is also a very important clash for despite being in the sixth qualifying spot on 22 points  the Top of the Hill still need  two points from the meeting as the home side sit on 18 points and will surely be fired up for this encounter.

The remaining game in the super league has Hennessy’s at home to the Joshua Tree with the home side on 28 points and the Joshua Tree on 26 points and if the home side manage to get three points from this meeting then they finish above the Joshua Tree but both sides will want a big result to hopefully finish above the teams above them if any should have a bad result tonight.

The quarterfinals of the Fosters super league will be played at the Groves on Monday November  26 with the semifinals and final at the same venue on Monday December 3.

The Blackpool Tavern darts team will be staging the annual Tadgh Stout memorial singles tournament  at the venue on Dunlin Street on Friday night next  November 23 with entries being accepted at the venue fro 8pm and darts in the air at 9pm.

All darts players are welcome to enter this memorial competition which honours Tadgh who was a very committed darts player over the years with Delaney’s GAA, Quinlan’s and Murphy’s Rock and all proceeds raised on the night  will be donated to Marymount Hospice.

Delegate meeting tomorrow night at the Gerald Griffin.
