Superb Teehan wins first challenge tour event at first go

winner
Ciarán Teehan who earned his first win today on the PDC challenge tour.

Ciarán Teehan the boy from Blarney Street earned his spurs today at the Robin Park Tennis Centre in Wigan with a string of outstanding performances in the PDC challenge tour 17 that brought him his first win at the first attempt.

Teehan took the challenge tour title ahead of Dutch player Beery Van Peer on a well deserved 5-2 scoreline in a final which Ciarán averaged 98.5.

It was in fact Teehan’s very first game of the day that he accumulated his best average as he put up 99.3 in his opening clash against Mike Whitehead, who he defeated 5-1 to then go on and perform so consistently throughout the event that, not on one occasion did he subsequently fall below 91.4 for his average, truly remarkable.

This challenge tour is awash with really many of the very best young players and also with the best of former full PDC tour players who may have slipped below the radar in recent times, many of them still performing consistently on the exhibition circuit along with the challenge tour.

Ciarán now will play later tonight in challenge tour 18 while waiting for him tomorrow will be challenge tour 19 and 20. Gwan boy!! !
