The Gallows bar were pipped in a last leg decider against the Local bar, in the Cork Darts Orginisation Super league on Monday last. Tomás Moloney was in first for the Gallows facing the veteran Pat Wentz. In this 5-leg thriller, it was Pat that went 2 legs up but Moloney brought it back to 2-2 with a 180 followed by a 135 check out in the 4th. Wentz opened the deciding leg with a 180 of his own, followed by a ton, then 99, but Moloney kept his winning ways flowing with scores of 140, 100 & 125. With little between them, Wentz was first to a finish, and narrowly missing double 16 to win the game, but Moloney kept his cool, checking out on tops for a 64 finish.
Garry O’Connor was in next for the Local and won 3-0 against Aaron McGrath. Chris Musgrave put the home team ahead, scoring 3 180’s in 4 legs, with a 3-1 win over George Dunne. The local brought the contest level again with a 3-2 win for Mossie Beavan against Chris O’Brien. With 2 games apiece, a crucial 5th game saw Will Kennedy and Eric O’Donoghue battle it out for the win. Both players traded the first 4 legs, and at 2-2, the final leg went to O’Donoghue, claiming the win and 3 points for the local.

Junior Division results; Ma Dullea’s 2-3 River Lane, Tower bar 2-3 Muskerry Arms, Island Tavern 4-1 Jack Fords and Residence 1-4 Fox & Hounds.
The semis and finals of the Ladies “A” league took place last Thursday at Ma Dullea’s and it was the Ma Dullea’s Ladies that won the title, beating the Joshua tree 3-1 in the final. The loosing semi-finalists were the residence & the Local. The results in the final were; Rita Hannigan 2-1 Eileen Jones, Lillian Walsh 1-2 Ciara Ní Eochaidh, Kathryn Hewitt 2-1 Mary Nugent & Aisling Coomey 2-1 Breda Barret. The Lady of the match was awarded to Aisling Coomey.
