Final round of Super and 1st, division qualifying tonight.

It’s all down to tonight’s results in the Cork Darts Orginisation Fosters Super and 1st divisions to find out who will meet in the quarter finals next week. In the Super Division, Section 1, the Joshua tree are on top with 14 points and play away to second from bottom, the Cow bar tonight. Second place, on 13 points, the Riverstown inn host 4th spot Top of the Hill who are on 10 points and 3rd place Rosies have 11 points play home to bottom placed Ma Dullea’s. In section 2, the Groves sit comfortably on top with 17 points and are at home to second placed Quinlans who have 13 points.  The Male Leaf sit in 3rd place with 9 points and travel to bottom placed, the Gallows.  The Joshua Tree (2) have 5 points and host 5th spot the Local, who are on 5 points.  The Quarter finals will be held at the Gallows Bar on Monday next, February 17th.

A very tight section 1 in the first division sees Carrigaline GAA on top with 12. Aunties, the Groves and Residence have 11, Riverlane have 9 and Hennessey’s have 6.  Tonight’s fixtures are; Residence v Carrigaline GAA, Hennessey’s v The Groves and Riverlane V Aunties. In section 2, Old Reliable have 13, Riverlane 8, Bakers Street on 5 with a game in hand, Riverstown Inn have 5 and Hannah Bawns have 4, also with a game in hand. Tonight’s fixtures are; Riverstown Inn v Bakers Street, Riverlane v Hannah Bawns and Old Reliable have a bye. The quarter finals will be at the Joshua Tree bar next Monday, February 17th.

Tonight’s fixtures in the Fosters 2nd Division are; Gallows (2) v Glenryan (2), Shamrock v St. Vincent’s, Glenryan (1) v Redcove and Local v Joshua Tree (3).

Fixtures in the Junior division tonight are; Muskerry arms v Riverlane (2), Jack Fords v Fox & Hounds, Island Tavern v Residence (2) and Ma Dullea’s v Tower bar.

The 72nd Cork City Individual Championships, sponsored by Jason Galway painting & decorating, will be held at the Joshua Tree bar on March 27th.  Current & Defending Champion Stevie O’Connor is hoping to win this prestigious title for his 4th time.  A total prize fund of €1200 will be up for grabs. Entries are now being accepted and will close when 80 contenders are entered.

The 3 combined Cork teams who were in action over the weekend at the Carlow challenge cup

The CDO would like to Congratulate the 3 Cork youth teams that travelled to Carlow and played in the Carlow invitational inter-county challenge cup. Cork 1 were drawn against Cork 3 in the quarter final of the Cup and it was Cork 1 that won 3-1. Cork 2 were runners-up in the shield, losing 3-1 to Limerick. Cork 1 were cup runners-up, losing 3-1 to Tipperary.

Tomorrow night’s delegate meeting will be at the Joshua Tree bar at 8:30pm.
