It’s Quarter finals action tonight at the Gallows and the Joshua Tree bar in the Cork Darts Orginisation Super and first Divisions. The table toppers in each section advance to the semifinals next week and will know who they will have in the semis after tonight’s results. The Joshua Tree (1) topped section 1 and the Groves (1) topped section 2, so they wait on the winners of Rosies v Maple leaf and Riverstown Inn v Quinlans. These 2 games have a 9:30pm start at the Gallows Bar tonight.
In the first division, the Groves (2) and Bakers Street topped their sections and will face the winners of the Residence v the Old Reliable and Carrigaline GAA v Riverlane 2 which will be held at the Joshua Tree tonight at 9:30pm.
it’s a tight contest in the second division as we go in to the penultimate week of round games. The Gallows 2, Glenryan 1 and Shamrock bar share pole position with 15 points each, Joshua tree have 14, Glenryan 2 are on 13, Redcove & St. Vincent’s have 10 and the Local (2) have 8. Tonight’s fixtures are; Redcove v St. Vincent’s, Glenryan 2 V Local 2, Shamrock v Glenryan 1 and Joshua tree (3) v Gallows 2.
In the Junior division, tonight will see Fox & Hounds V Muskerry Arms, Residence 2 v Tower bar, Riverlane 2 v Jack Fords and Ma Dullea’s v Island Tavern. Fox & Hounds lead that group on 18 points, Island Tavern and Muskerry arms have 15, Jack Fords have 13, Riverlane are on 12 with Ma Dullea’s, Tower bar and Residence on 10, 9, & 8.
The 72nd Cork City Individual Championships, sponsored by Jason Galway painting & decorating, will be held at the Joshua Tree bar on March 27th. Current & Defending Champion Stevie O’Connor is hoping to win this prestigious title for his 4th time. A total prize fund of €1200 will be up for grabs. Entries are now being accepted and will close when 80 contenders are entered.
Cork Youth Darts are excited to announce that from April, CYD will be an accredited Junior Darts Corporation academy. JDC are the youth version of the PDC and will give the youths fantastic opportunities to excel in their game with a programme perfectly designed by JDC, that will let them see their progression and thrive to get better each step they make. CYD will hold a ranking event on February 29th at the Harp bar at 12pm and anyone aged 7-17 are welcome to come along and join CYD. The first JDC academy date is set for April 4th and the time and venue will be available shortly.
Tomorrow night’s delegate meeting will be at the Joshua Tree bar at 8:30pm.
