Fosters 1st, division final night goes centre stage at Joshua Tree.

The Joshua tree bar on Blarney street will host the semifinals and final tonight in the Cork Darts Orginisation 1st division Fosters league.  The old Reliable got over the line in their quarter final game last week against the Residence (2) in a last leg decider and will face the Groves (2) tonight in the semifinal. Carrigaline GAA were victors in their quarter final match against the Riverlane (2) and will face Bakers street tonight in the other semifinal. Both games are down for an 8:30pm start.

Results from last week’s quarter finals in the Super division were Rosies 3-2 Maple leaf and Riverstown Inn 3-0 Quinlans.  The semifinal line up is the Joshua Tree (1) v Riverstown Inn and Groves (1) v Rosies. These games will take place on March 2nd at 8:30pm at the Gallows bar.

It’s the final night of round games tonight in the 2nd and Junior divisions of the CDO Fosters leagues. Division 2 table toppers Shamrock bar have 18 points and play away to the Redcove who are on 14. The Joshua tree have 17 and play away to the Glenryan (2), with 15. St. Vincent’s have 11 and host the Glenryan (1), with 17.  Also, on 17 are the Gallows and are away to the Local, who have 11.

The Fox & Hounds lead the table in the Junior section on 20 points and play away tonight to the Riverlane (2), who are on 14. The Island Tavern have 18 and they travel to the Tower bar, who are on 11. Jack Forde’s have 16 points and play at home to Muskerry arms, who are on 18. The Residence (2) are on 11 and play Ma Dullea’s who have 12.

The top 4 in each section progress to the knockouts next week.

The 72nd Cork City Individual Championships, sponsored by Jason Galway painting & decorating, will be held at the Joshua Tree bar on March 27th.  Current & Defending Champion Stevie O’Connor is hoping to win this prestigious title for his 4th time.  A total prize fund of €1200 will be up for grabs. Entries are now being accepted and will close when 80 contenders are entered. Spaces are filling fast so get your name in if you want to take part.

The CDO would like to congratulate Cork Youth Darts on their double winning success in the Munster Championships which was held in Clonmel last week. CYD travelled with 3 teams and it was Cork 1 that won the Munster Cup and Cork 3 won the shield. Cork 2 were very unlucky in the semifinal losing 3-2 to Cork 1.

Tomorrow night’s delegate meeting will be at the Joshua Tree bar at 8:30pm.
