Cork youths claim INDO inter-counties 2020 title

The Semifinals and final of the Cork Darts Orginisation Fosters sponsored Super Division, 2nd Division and Junior division took place last Monday night at the Gallows, The Local and the Riverlane. At the Gallows, the semifinal results were The Joshua tree (1) 3-0 Riverstown Inn & the Groves (1) 1-3 Rosie’s.

The Joshua tree beat Rosies 3-2 in the final, with current Cork City individuals Champion, Stevie O’Connor hitting the pressure double in the deciding leg.

At the Local bar, the semi-final results were the Joshua tree (3) 3-2  Shamrock bar & Glenryan (1) 1-3 Gallows (2).  The Joshua Tree won 3-2 against the Gallows in the final with William Dwyer hitting the winning double to seal the win for the Josh.

At the Riverlane, the semi-final results were Muskerry 3-1 Riverlane (3) & Fox & Hounds 3-2 Island Tavern. The Fox & Hounds won their first title winning 3-1 against Muskerry in the final with wins from Dylan Twomey, Gary Dowling and the match winner, Brian Wall. The Fox & Hounds will be playing 2nd Division from tonight after their recent success, and St. Vincent’s will drop to Junior division. 

Tonight’s fixtures are; Crean & McGarry Super Division – Section 1 – Joshua tree 1 v Riverstown Inn, Top of the Hill v Ma Dullea’s, Rosie’s v Cow.  Section 2 – Joshua Tree 2 v Maple leaf, Gallows v Quinlan’s, Groves v local

CDO Fosters 1st Division – Section 1 – Carrigaline GAA v Groves 2, Hennessey v Aunties, Riverlane 1v Residence.  Section 2 – Riverstown v Hannah Bawns, Old reliable v Baker street, Riverlane 2 v bye.

CDO Fosters 2nd Division – Red Cove v Joshua tree , Fox & Hounds v Gallows, Glenryan 1 v Local, Shamrock v Glenryan 2

CDO Fosters Junior Division – Ma Dullea’s v Muskerry, Tower v Riverlane 3, Residence v Jack Fords, Island Tavern v St Vincent’s

The 72nd Cork City Individual Championships, sponsored by Jason Galway painting & decorating, will be held at the Joshua Tree bar on March 27th.  Entries will close once 80 names are in, and limited spaces are now remaining. Entries will be taken by CDO secretary at the delegate meetings

The CDO would like to congratulate Cork Youth Darts on their fantastic victory over the weekend, by becoming the 2020 All Ireland youth inter-county Champions in Treacys west county hotel, Ennis.  Cork Youth Darts are now both Munster & All Ireland Champions. CYD will be starting a JDC academy in Cork and the first event will be held at Delany’s H&F Club on April 4th at 12:30pm.

Tomorrow night’s delegate meeting will be at the Joshua Tree bar at 8:30pm.
