Game on!

This coming Monday night September 19th will see the beginning of the Cork Darts Organisation season 2022/23 with games across all four divisions of the leagues.

The men will get matters underway on Monday night coming with the ladies quickly following on Thursday 22nd of September.

The draws for all men’s divisions were made at last Tuesday nights delegate meeting at the Joshua Tree and a full list of fixtures for Monday night are published below while full fixture lists for all games will be available at this coming Tuesday nights delegate meeting which will be held at the Red Cove Inn.

All games are timed for a 9.30pm start and away teams should be in attendance at their match venue by at least 9.15pm on match night.

Nominations in writing {Nominations must be non profit, non funded and locally based} are being accepted at any delegate meeting for our annual charity night fundraiser which will this year once again be held at the Joshua Tree.

The Charity Shield open singles championship will be held on Friday November 25th, and is open to all adult darts players and entries are now being accepted at any delegate meeting.

Cork Youth Darts City and County held their first weekend of action since the beginning of the Pandemic when they held their annual darts gala as the Cork Challenge cup and also singles competitions were held at the Trabolgen holiday centre in Whitegate.

The main event of the weekend was of course the Cork Challenge cup and after a very hectic weekend of top class darts action it was the Cork team who took the honours with a very deserved win over Youths Darts School Laois

Shane Long representing Cork youths took the under 14 singles title on Sunday while the senior under 18 title went to Carlow’s Adam Dee. Both were presented by Shuggy, general manager of Trabolgan.

This coming Sunday at the River Lane on Blarney Street the Cork County Darts Board will be holding their second ranking event of 9 at 1.30pm sharp.

Fixtures for Monday September 19th. All games 9.30pm.

Premier division; Groves 2 v Quinlans 1, Joshua Tree 1 v Groves 1, Top of the Hill v Ma Dulleas 1, Quinlans 2 v Cow, Riverstown Inn bye.

1st, division; Section 1, Gallows 1 v Danglers, O’Cionnaighs v Local 1, Residence 1 bye.

Section 2; Old Reliable  v Gallows 2, Aunties v Joshua Tree 2, Riverlane bye.

Division 2; Section 1; Glenryan 2 v Carrigaline GAA, Joshua Tree 3 v Red Cove Inn, Tower bye.

Section 2; Jack Fords v Glenryan 1, Gallows 3 v Maple Leaf, Local 2 bye.

Division 3; Riverlane 2 v Residence 2, Muskerry Arms v Hennessys, Ma Dulleas 2 bye.
